President Wang Jianping Attending “Innovation Beijing” International Forum (2017)
“Innovation Beijing” International Forum (2017) – Promoting the Construction of Scientific and Technological Innovation Center & Leading the Innovation-Driven Development was held in Beijing on December 7 - 8, 2017. President Wang Jianping was invited to the forum and made a speech entitled "Constructing Shanghai Global Innovation Center and leading the regional coordinated development". The forum was hosted by Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and more than 200 government officials, experts, scholars and business representatives from China, Germany, Israel, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Finland and Hungary attended the forum.

Attending 2017 Annual Meeting of the Asian Public Administration Network and Seminar on the Policy of Talent Introduction
From November 20 to 22, 2017 Annual Meeting of the Asian Public Administration Network was held in Xiamen. It focused on the theme of Internationalization of Human Resources and the Management of Skilled Immigrants. Present at the meeting were more than 150 experts and scholars from government, research institutions and universities, as well as 11 countries and regions, such as Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Maldives, Switzerland.

The Regional Innovation Committee Organizing and Convening the 2017 Committee Working Conference
In the evening of October 27th, the Regional Innovation Committee organized and convened the 2017 Committee Working Conference. The honorary director, Li Jianmin presided over the meeting and the secretary- general, Yang Yaowu, made a introduction related to the committee working plan. 2017 Seminar on Science and Technology Policy and the Meeting of Science and Technology Policy Committee
On September 9-10, 2017 Seminar on Science and Technology Policy and the Meeting of Science and Technology Policy Committee, hosted by China Science and Technology Policy Studies - Science and Technology Policy Committee, undertaken by Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Policy, was successfully held in Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Management. Present at the meeting were over 50 experts and professors from Institutes of Science and Development- Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Beijing University Of Technology, National Center for Science & Technology Evaluation and so on.

SISTP Hosted the First GTIPA Forum
SISTP hosted the first Global Trade and Innovation Policy Alliance (GTIPA) Forum during 13-14th this July with ITIF and CGE in Shanghai. More than 50 think-tank experts and participants from China, Poland, Mexico, Italy, India, Colombia, the USA, and Sweden joined the forum. Jianping Wang (President of Shanghai Institute of Science & Technology Management) made a welcome speech on the first day of the forum. Robert D. Atkinson (President of ITIF) introduced the alliance, explained background and intent of statement of shared principles. Christopher G. Caine(President of the Center for Global Enterprise)、Stephen Ezell(Vice President of Global Innovation Policy from ITIF)、Andreas Larsson(Head of Office, Office of Science and Innovation at the Embassy of Sweden, Washington, DC)、Pietro Paganini(Founder and Curiosity officer of COMPETERE)、Alberto Saracho(Founding Partner & Director of the Economic Development Area Fundación IDEA)、Yaowu Yang(Director of Shanghai Institute of Science & Technology Policy)moderated one dialogue and 5 sessions. These topics include innovation policy in China and enterprise innovation、global & digital supply chains and how this enables the innovation economy、cross-border data flows、the impact of automation, technology, and employment on the future of work、best practices in global innovation policy、how to spur global science & technology innovation centers/global innovation cities etc. Senior business executives from Geely Automotive Group, China BoQi Environmental Technology Solutions, Huawei, SAP, Northeast Asia Development Institute, Chinese Academy of Science & Technology for Development, Clarivate Analytics also joined these discussion. One the second day of the forum, GTIPA members discussed how to operate the alliance. The Alliance members agreed to expand GTIPA membership, do some joint research projects and to hold future summits in Italy (2018) and Mexico (2019). All participants had on site survey to Small I Robots Company, Microport Scientific Corporation,Huawei Shanghai Research & Development Center one the afternoon of the second day of the forum.
